Focused on current issues in the local community, the U.S., and the world. The committee works
actively with the Fellowship to use their time and budgeted allotment effectively to have an impact by
helping in our community and in raising funds.

Accomplishments for 2008-2009 Include:
  • “Share the Plate” – Third Sunday of the month, the Fellowship donates 1/2 of loose cash that
    is collected at the Offering to a designated organization in need.  
  • Fredericksburg Counseling Services: $357
  • Caroline Street Clean Up
  • Cell Phones for Soldiers
  • Local food bank: $211
  • Sleeping bags for the homeless
  • School Dressing Days: $345
  • Rebuilding Together: 21 volunteers, $550, and Share The Plate contributions.
  • Thurman Brisben Homeless Shelter Meals and $331
  • Rappahannock Council on Domestic Violence Shelter: $150
  • The Interfaith Community Council: $200
  • Hope House: $150
  • UU UN Office: $100
  • UU Service Committee - Works all over the world, by selecting organizations and individuals in
    need of our assistance: $350
  • Community Assessment Program: $200
  • Friends of the Rappahannock: $50
  • Imani Multicultural Center – Share The Plate contributions and many items from the Caroline
    Street property that were no longer being utilized: TV, VCR, Refrigerator, A/C unit, Chairs, etc.
  • Provided space for AA, N/A meetings
  • Thanksgiving Baskets for Head Start families
  • Hazel Hill - Nursing care for low income elderly: $346
